Tonya Price was born in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in Fairborn, within sight of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. While spending a year abroad on an American Field Service scholarship in Grossburgwedel, Germany, she met her husband who was an exchange student to Austria. Fate intervened when they both subsequently attended Oberlin College. She majored in Government, Education and minored in Astro-Geology.
Tonya spent three years in Geneva, Switzerland, two of which she spent at the World Health Organization, while her husband worked on his PhD in Economics. While he worked on his dissertation, she earned her MBA at Cornell’s Johnson School of Business.
Her mother liked to tell how when Tonya was two years old, she handed over a piece of paper and a pen and said, “I’m going to tell you a story. I need you to write it down.” She has been writing her own stories since she learned to write.
Tonya has published numerous short stories and is the author of the non-fiction series, Business Books For Writers. She is a member of the Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators, the Mystery Writers of America, the Historical Writers of America, Sisters in Crime and the Mystery Writers of America. Her thriller short story, “Payback,” originally published in Fiction River’s Hard Choices anthology, will be in The Best Mystery Stories of 2019.
